Autumn Holiday Workshop: 28-31 October 2014
"& ?! - Sculpting with characters"
Welcome to Moderna Museet Malmö during the autumn holiday! The Moderna Exhibition 2014 - Society Acts offers pleny of artworks for the whole family to discover together. Henning Lundkvist, one of the participating artists, has remade the "&" character into completely different shapes by cutting apart and putting it together again into something else. With inspiration from his work, we ask ourselves: what can we make the letter L or the number 7 look like? Can a question mark become an unknown creature? Maybe you can rearrange your own name to be a landscape? We experiment together with painting and sculpture techniques.
Christmas Holiday Workshop: 23, 26, 28, 30 December 2014 and 2 January 2015
The city of Here & There
We're building an entire city in the Workshop at Moderna Museet Malmö. The city is called Here & There, and it consists of two districts. One district, Here, is located on a high and steep mountain. The second district, There, is located in a valley. Every visitor to our Workshop can help build the city. Inspired by some selected artworks from the museum's current exhibition Moderna Exhibition 2014 - Society Acts, we invite all families on holiday, both adults and children, to work together to help create the city of Here & There. Can we transform cardboard, styrofoam, clay, colors, wood and a hundred other things to dream houses, strange buildings, imaginative bridges, majestic parks, colorful schools and fantastic cable cars that will take the city's residents from Here to There?
