Moderna Museet has five departments: Administration, Art and Learning, Communication, Conservation and Technology.

Administration
The Administration Department handles financial control, staff, IT coordination, registry and archives, property management, security, telecoms and maintenance, and the Photo Studio and Image Library. Head of Department: Lars Turesson
Art and Learning
(Exhibitions & Collection, Learning, Collection & Loan)
The Department is responsible for exhibitions, catalogue production, new acquisitions, lending and borrowing of art, deposited works, research, the Art Database, the Photography Library, Moderna Museet's activities abroad, educational development work, events, publications, text production and editing, guided tours, activities for children, adolescents and families, educational tools such as the audio guide, educational pages on the website and documentation.

Communication
The department is responsible for the shop, events, the website, internal communications, marketing, press relations, museum hosts, bookings, hire of premises and sponsorship.

Conservation
The conservation studios handle paintings, sculptures, photographs and works on paper. The activities comprise caring for the collection and for borrowed works, deposited works and outdoor sculptures, and responsibility for the art in storage.

Technology
The Technology Department is responsible for the museum's technical installations and all technology used for exhibitions, carpentry, maintenance of storage facilities, packing and framing, in addition to building exhibitions and general service for the museum in general.
