In association with Moderna Museet, the Venice Biennale 2013 is presenting Hilma af Klint in the Central Pavilion. In conjunction with this event, Moderna Museet will publish a book that relates Hilma af Klint’s notes to nine contemporary oeuvres.

In 2013, Moderna Museet continues to explore the works of Marcel Duchamp in relation to other parts of the collection. Until 3 March, visitors can study the encounter, or rather, the confrontation, between Picasso and Duchamp. From 26 March, parts of the Museum’s extensive collection of surrealism will be shown alongside works by Marcel Duchamp.

Ulla Wiggen (b. 1942) is an artist with a fastidious and highly idiosyncratic output. During 1964-1969, she made only some 30 paintings, most of which represent the interior of various electronic devices. Some are straight-forward depictions, revealing existing connections, others are her own combinations of components from different sources.
