Moderna Museet

Moderna Museet has some of the finest key works of 20th century art, including works by Picasso, De Chirico, Richter, Dardel and many more. The collection comprises some 5,000 paintings, sculptures and installations, some 25,000 drawings and graphic works, and more than 100,000 photographs.

Every year, the museum produces many exciting exhibitions of Swedish and international art.

The Museum of Architecture

The Museum of Architecture is situated in the former premises of Moderna Museet. The oldest part was built in 1851-53 in the terse, classicist style of its architect Fredrik Blom. The award-winning Spanish architect Rafael Moneo was in charge of the refurbishment of the old buildings and designed the new building with an exterior inspired by early Nordic Functionalism and Spanish modernism.

The Museum of Architecture focuses on the art of building, building research and urban planning. The museum is also a research institution.

The museum's exhibitions deal with both Swedish and international architecture and design.
