The third part of the Highlighting lecture series coincides with Moderna Museet’s Lee Lozano exhibition. After her death in 1999, Lee Lozano disappeared from art history. Unlike her contemporary male colleagues on the American art scene, Lee Lozano never got proper recognition and is still, therefore, relatively unknown. In recent years, she has been rediscovered and there is a steadily growing international interest in her oeuvre.

Highlighting: Carolee Schneemann
23 October 2010 at 1–4.30 pm In English
Admission free, The Auditorium
Carolee Schneemann is legendary for her performances Meat Joy and Interior Scroll in the 1960s and 70s, in which she appeared in the nude. But her oeuvre consists of much more than recitals of feminist texts extracted from her vagina – as in Interior Scroll – much more than bodies wallowing among chickens, fish and slabs of meat – as in Meat Joy. In connection with the project The Second Museum of our Wishes, the museum acquired photographic documentation of Interior Scroll.
Carolee Schneeann will give a "performative lecture". Talks by Kathleen Bühler, curator of contemporary art at Kunstmuseum Bern, Switzerland, and Hans Sternudd, researcher at Malmö University.
