FAQ

Here you find answers to the most common questions asked by journalists and others reporting on our exhibitions and activities. Please contact us if you cannot find the information you are looking for.

ARE THERE RESTRICTIONS TO THE USE OF PRESS IMAGES AVAILABLE IN THE PRESS ROOM?

There are two types of images in the Press Room. These are their terms of use:

1. Images related to an exhibition

Press images related to specific exhibitions are freely accessible prior to and during the respective exhibition periods. You are only permitted to use them when reporting on an exhibition or Moderna Museet’s activities.

The images must always be accompanied by the credit line including the title of the work, the artist’s name and the date, as well as copyright information where applicable. (All the necessary information can be found in conjunction with each of the press images in the Press Room.)

See the next question regarding the cropping of press images.

2. Images of our buildings and interiors

Press images of our buildings and interior views can be used freely when reporting on or informing about Moderna Museet.

See the next question regarding the cropping of press images.

MAY I CROP PRESS IMAGES?

We have three different answers depending on the type of press image in question.

1. Images of individual artworks

No. Images of individual artworks may not be cropped or in any way distorted, neither in print nor in digital publication, without our express permission.

2. Installation views (views of exhibitions at Moderna Museet)

Yes, but there might be exceptions. You are permitted to crop installation images – views of exhibitions at Moderna Museet Moderna Museet to fit a certain format,  (but they may not be distorted in any other way). In the case of individual exceptions to this rule, it is clearly stated in the image information. If you crop an image you always have to state this in the publication.

3. Images of our buildings and interiors

Yes, but there might be exceptions. You are permitted to crop images of interior or exterior views of Moderna Museet to fit a certain format (but they may not be distorted in any other way). In the case of individual exceptions to this rule, it is clearly stated in the image information. If you crop an image you always have to state this in the publication.
