The Catalogue Thomas Schütte: United Enemies

Catalogue

The exhibition catalogue is produced by Moderna Museet and is available in the museum shop and our web shop. The exhibition and catalogue Thomas Schütte: United Enemies takes the artistʼs sculptural works from the past two decades as its starting point.

The book is richly illustrated and presents an introduction to the artist by Moderna Museet’s curator Matilda Olof-Ors. The essay by Bente Larsen, Professor in Art History at the University of Oslo, focuses on the fragmented body and how this aesthetical and philosophical concept relates to Thomas Schütteʼs work. Moderna Museet’s director Daniel Birnbaum refers to Franz Kafka when he describes the sculpture Vater Staat, placed at the entrance to the museum during the exhibition. Read the essay Before the Law by Daniel Birnbaum.

Swedish and English edition. Format: 21 x 29,7 cm. 192 pages. Approx. 130 images.
