Art, Communication and Collaboration Across Borders

A Conversation About Integrated Research

10.1 2017

Stockholm

Welcome to a forward-looking conversation about collaboration across borders between Johanna Sandahl, Eva Krutmeijer, Camilla Widebeck, Ingrid Peterson, Anna Roosvall and Camilla Carlberg. The conversation will be moderated by Patrik Hadenius.

Research and science are essential for achieving sustainable development. During the fall and winter 2016, Moderna Museet has conducted the project Acclimatize – a digital platform where anyone can upload an image, text or video about climate change. There are also interviews with artists and in-depth texts written by authors from several disciplines. This project concludes on January 10.

In recent years, several similar projects have emerged that show the desire to experiment on how society can meet research, and also how different academic disciplines can meet each other. The word “collaboration” is on everyone’s lips — but is it always so easy? How different are our perceptions on the purpose of knowledge? And how much can we simplify research?

Two years ago, the Swedish National Commission for Unesco and the Swedish Research Council published the anthology ”Hela Vetenskapen! – Fourteen researchers on integrated research”. This text raises several issues that we now take up and elaborate on. We hope to have a fun and exciting conversation about science, communication, and collaboration. To aid our discussion, we have a panel consisting of:

Johanna Sandahl – Chairperson at the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation’s (SSNC) and part of the Swedish government’s delegation for Agenda2030

Eva Krutmeijer – Consultant in communications and project leader for several collaboration projects including The Royal Dramatic Theatre and Stockholm Environment Institute

Camilla Widebeck – Producer of the radio science program “Vetandets Värld” (The World of Knowledge) for Swedish Radio (SR)

Ingrid Peterson – General Director for Formas Research Council and part of the Swedish government’s delegation for Agenda2030

Anna Roosvall – PhD in Media and Communications, researcher in the role of media in climate reporting, Stockholm University

Camilla Carlberg – Head of Learning at Moderna Museet and part of the team behind Acclimatise

The panel is moderated by Patrik Hadenius, Chief Editor for the popular science journal Forskning och Framsteg.
