Öyvind Fahlström: Worlding Art

Lecture with Lars Bang Larsen

19.12 2017

Stockholm

Meet our new curator Lars Bang Larsen in a lecture on Öyvind Fahlström. This talk will juxtapose the global character of the work and biography of Fahlström with historical and recent examples of how his work has been presented and received abroad.

Lars Bang Larsen co-curated the São Paulo Biennial 2016, Incerteza Viva. Öyvind Fahlström, born 1928 in São Paulo, was one of the artists presented at the biennial.

Lars Bang Larsen is an adjunct curator for international art at Moderna Museet, beginning autumn 2017. He has curated several exhibitions such as A History of Irritated Material, 2010, and Reflections from Damaged Life, 2013, both at Raven Row in London. As an author and researcher, he has written for example The Model: A Model for a Qualitative Society (1968), published by the Museu D’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, 2010, and Networks (Documents of Contemporary Art) published by Whitechapel Art Gallery in London, 2014.

The point of departure for Lars Bang Larsen’s lecture is the current exhibition Manipulate the World – Connecting Öyvind Fahlström.
