Daniel Birnbaum
In 2001-2010, Daniel Birnbaum was the rector of, and professor at, Städelschule Staatliche Hochschule in Frankfurt, Germany. He has been internationally active as a critic, writing for publications such as Artforum. He was previously an art critic for Dagens Nyheter, director of the Swedish Arts Grants Committee’s International Program in Sweden, and the curator for numerous major international exhibitions and biennials, and the artistic director of the Venice Biennial in 2009.
Ann-Sofi Noring
Ann-Sofi Noring has been with Moderna Museet since 2001 as chief curator and was appointed co-director of the Museum in 2010. She has been responsible for exhibitions of artists including Ed Ruscha, Karin Mamma Andersson, Andrea Zittel and Gabriel Orozco. Between 1991 and 2001, she was head of information at the Public Art Agency Sweden and editor of its publications. She was also responsible for its programme of exhibitions and seminars aimed at bringing contemporary art to public spaces.
Iris Müller-Westermann
Iris Müller-Westermann has worked at Moderna Museet in Stockholm since 1997. She has curated some of the Museum’s most widely acknowledged exhibitions: Louise Bourgeois – I Have Been to Hell and Back, Lee Lozano, Jutta Koether, Rosemarie Trockel, Munch By Himself, Max Ernst – Dream and Revolution, and, last but not least, the greatly acclaimed exhibition Hilma af Klint – A Pioneer of Abstraction, which toured Europe and was seen by more than one million visitors. The exhibitions curated by Iris Müller-Westermann, of groundbreaking as well as more accessible artistic oeuvres, have been recognised and appreciated by both critics and the public, in Sweden and internationally. She has studied philosophy and literature and has a PhD in art history from the University of Hamburg. She has previously held various positions at the Munch Museum in Oslo, and was also the director of the Stenersen Museum in Oslo.1999.
