Malmö
Moderna Museet Malmö opened its doors in 2009. The museum is housed in one of the city’s most beautiful buildings, namely architect John Smedberg’s power station from 1901. An extension designed by Tham Videgård Arkitekter was added onto the original building and its characteristic orange façade has become a symbol of Moderna Museet Malmö.
Moderna Museet’s graphic profile, created by Stockholm Design Lab, is based on the American artist Robert Rauschenberg’s handwriting. It is visible on the museum’s facade and some interior walls, and of course on signs and products.
