art&txt: two authors – two exhibitions – two places

author talk

9.10 – 13.11 2025

Malmö

We proudly present a collaboration between Författarcentrum Syd, Kristianstad konsthall and Moderna Museet Malmö. This autumn, art and literature come together in two inspiring conversations. First up is author Lina Wolff in conversation with Lars Mogensen.

You are warmly invited to two author talks taking place within two exhibitions at two different venues. Lars Mogensen will be in conversation with Lina Wolff in Lee Mingwei’s exhibition “Best regards, Lee Mingwei” at Moderna Museet Malmö on 9 October, and with Kristofer Folkhammar in Pia Ferm’s exhibition “To Grind, to Shape, to Pour and to Fall” at Kristianstad Art Gallery on 13 November.

During autumn 2025, Författarcentrum Syd explores, through the project “ART&TXT,” what can emerge at the intersection of contemporary art and literature. Can a literary perspective deepen the experience of visual art? Can literature grow through its encounter with art? Inspired by current exhibitions, these on-stage conversations revolve around the artworks that surround the audience — and a literary work.

About Lina Wolff

Lina Wolff (b. 1973) lives in Lund, Sweden, and has previously lived in Italy and Spain, where she worked as an interpreter and trade agent. She made her literary debut in 2009 with the short story collection “Many People Die Like You”. Her novel “Bret Easton Ellis and the Other Dogs” (2012) received, among other accolades, Vi Magazine’s Literature Prize and achieved international recognition in its English translation.

Her third book,” The Polyglot Lovers” (2016), was unanimously praised by critics and awarded both the Svenska Dagbladet Literature Prize and the prestigious August Prize for Best Fiction. Her 2019 novel “The Time of Flesh” was also highly acclaimed and received Aftonbladet’s Literature Prize the same year. In 2022, Wolff published “The Devil’s Grip”, which, like her earlier novels, was met with critical acclaim and nominated for both the August Prize and the Dagens Nyheter Culture Prize. Her most recent work, “Walks in the Night” (2024), is a collection of short prose texts.

About Kristofer Folkhammar

Kristofer Folkhammar is an author and literary critic based in Malmö, Sweden. His work includes the critically acclaimed novels “The Master’s Games” (Magisterlekarna, Natur & Kultur, 2015) and “Is It the Children, Baby?” (Är det barnen, baby?, Natur & Kultur, 2021). His most recent publication is the poetry collection “To Paint” (Måla, Lejd, 2024).

“To Paint” explores memory as an impossible return. A childhood landscape in Småland — marked by tentative sexuality and latent violence — is revisited. Everyday sunlight lifts the lover across the terrain. The book received high praise from critics upon release and was nominated for the Swedish Radio Poetry Prize in 2025.
