Closing of Lee Mingwei’s The Letter Writing Project

We gather for a closing of the Letter Writing Project, which was part of the exhibition Med vänliga hälsningar, Lee Mingwei, by engaging in conversation, burning letters, and reflecting together with Elisabeth Millqvist, the exhibition’s curator and director of Moderna Museet Malmö.

The Letter Writing Project was part of Lee Mingwei’s exhibition with an invitation to write a letter with what you had untold or had’nt gotten the chance to say. Visitors wrote letters filled of thoughts and emotions and left them with or without address. During the run of the exhibition the museum mailed thousands of letters but many had no address on the envelope. In dialogue with the artist we have arranged for an evening where we gather and the curator of the exhibition Elisabeth Millqvist reflects on the exhibition and invite you to burn letters. We gather, talk and read before going outside to jointly put the letters on the fire.
