Curator’s tour – Lee Mingwei

On 26 September, during the opening night of Malmö Gallery Weekend, Moderna Museet Malmö will open “Best Regards, Lee Mingwei” – the artist’s first solo exhibition in the Nordic region. Born in 1964 in Taiwan, Lee Mingwei places human encounters at the heart of his work.

The exhibition features “The Letter Writing Project”, “Fabric of Memory” and “The Mending Project”. These works were first created in 1998, 2006, and 2009 respectively, and continue to reappear in new places and contexts. Throughout the exhibition period in Malmö, the works will evolve and transform. They are presented alongside films from the projects “Guernica in Sand” (2006), “Sonic Blossom” (2013) and” When Beauty Visits” (2017), offering insight into Lee Mingwei’s artistic process.
