The screening will be followed by an artist talk in which Brotherus will talk about her 20 year experience in front of and behind the camera, alternating between autobiography/self-representation and art-historical references.
Elina Brotherus (1972) lives and works in Helsinki, Finland and Avallon, France. She has an MA degree in Photography from the University of Art and Design Helsinki and a MSc in Chemistry from the University of Helsinki. She started exhibiting internationally in 1998 while still in art school. Elina Brotherus’ work has been given prominence in numerous art and photography books and reviews.

Synopsis: Two photographers are working to make a self-portrait with a large-format view camera. They pay hommage to Francesca Woodman, who for her age could be their niece.
