Welcome to a musical workshop where we paint to music – more specifically, to the sound of the bassoon! The bassoon is a woodwind instrument made of wood and metal. It has lots of keys and a small tube you blow into – a double reed. The bassoon can play very low notes, but also light and playful melodies. In the orchestra, the bassoon often gets to play fun and quirky parts, but sometimes it also sings truly beautiful and gentle melodies.
Musicians:
Lucia Amerise is a bassoon teacher at the cultural schools in Malmö and Lund. She also works as a freelance musician and chamber music performer.
Ignas Mažvila is the principal bassoonist in the Danish Entertainment Orchestra and the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, and a dedicated chamber musician.
