Malmö Gallery Weekend is an annual art festival that gives you the chance to discover Malmö’s rich art scene – from art institutions to galleries and temporary initiatives. We participate with performance, Curator Tour and Sunday Workshop.

Programme during Malmö Gallery Weekend

Friday 27 September at 18.00 – 23.00

Performance with Monster Chetwynd.

Time:

Friday: The performance starts at 18.20, 19.20, 20.20, 21.20, 22.20 and lasts for 40 minutes with approximately 20 minutes pause.

Saturday: The performance starts at 12 and 13 and lasts for 40 minutes.

Location: The Turbine Hall

Tickets: Free admission during Malmö Gallery Weekend

Kafé Sisko is open all evening.

Saturday 28 September

Highlights-tour of “The Fantastic and Horrific” with Curator and Museum Director Elisabeth Millquist.

Sunday Workshop with Theme: Monsters everywhere! For alla ges. Recommended from 4 years and up. Drop in. Children in company of an adult.

Performance with Monster Chetwynd

In connection to Malmö Gallery Weekend, Monster Chetwynd presents a newly produced cabaret-like performance, with the working title Evolution of Cat People (2024). Chetwynd, along with per loosely assembled ensemble of colleagues and friends, will, in per recognizable playful manner, offer song, dance and popular science lecture in colorful costumes and masks. With artistic means, a community is created where actors and audience are linked together. Chetwynd’s work has the ability to seduce and spread positivism, while at the same time a certain sense of uncertainty can arise in the various encounters. Here, an ability to capture life as a sometimes irrational state and create something hopeful in everyday drama is revealed.

Highlights Tour with Elisabeth Millqvist

Welcome to a tour of “The Fantastic and Horrific”. Elisabeth Millqvist, Curator of the exhibition and Museum Director, will talk about several works – highlights – from the exhibition. There will be some old favorites and a few surprises!

Sunday Workshop with Theme: Monsters everywhere!

Did you know that the Sunday Workshop is now open to all ages?
Adults, teenagers, and children create together. In the Workshop, we experiment with building creatures, beasts, monsters, and animals using simple materials like cardboard, fabric, and wood. We draw ideas and inspiration from “Cat Head” and the exhibition “The Fantastic and Horrific” that is teeming with monsters and creatures in various forms. Drop-in. Recommended for ages 4 and up. Children accompanied by an adult.
