Summer Break: Painting the place

Creative Workshop outdoors

Welcome to our Summer Break workshop! Join us in a creative workshop at Ola Billgrens plats, outside of the Moderna Museet. We will use things that we find outdoors to create.

Date: 9 – 11 July
Time: Between 11.00 – 15.00
Location: Outside the museum at Ola Billgrens plats
Language: Swedish
Tickets: Drop in. Free admission.

In case of rain, we will work inside in Verkstan, then the activity is included in the admission fee. Free admission for those 25 and under.

We start every day with a short introduction to the exhibition.

Both Vivian Suter and Kiki Smith draws on nature and the surrounding environment in their art. Now it’s your turn to try! For three days, you’re welcome to the museum to create using the place itself: the light, the trees, and your imagination. Paint with twigs, capture shadows on paper, and explore abstract painting on fabric. We’ll be outdoors (indoors if it rains).

In the Summer Break workshop we will focus on three different “missions”:

1. Brushes of twigs

2. Capture shadows with painting

3. Paint green and abstract on fabric

we also explore the nejets public artwork in Malmö; “Fountain” by Magnus Thierfelder Tzotzi, just in front of the museum. Maybe Malmö’s smallest public artwork!?
