ACTIONPAINTINGBABYSPLASH!

at The Malmö Festival 2015

Malmö

Moderna Museet Malmö’s hit project ACTIONPAINTINGBABYSPLASH! returns to Gustav Adolfs torg this summer during the Malmö Festival, August 14–21. We’ll have eight colorful days with a unique mix of exhibition and creative workshop. Whether you’re a newborn or 110—or any age in between—join us!

Events

All workshops will take place at Gustav Adolfs torg in Malmö.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 14, 2–4 PM: ACTIONPAINTINGPANGBOOMSPLAT
We burst paint-filled balloons with darts and shoot paint onto the walls with spray guns. Splat!
Ages 9–110 years.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 15, 2–4 PM: ACTIONPAINTINGBABYSPLASH
We create a gigantic room-sized painting by going wild with a cascade of colors. Be prepared to get really, really messy! Ages 3–110 years.

SUNDAY, AUGUST 16, 2–4:30 PM: ACTIONPAINTYOURFACE
Action paint right on your face! This workshop is inspired by the fine-art genre of action painting and by a variety of cultural and spiritual traditions of face painting.
Ages 4–110 years.

MONDAY, AUGUST 17; TUESDAY, AUGUST 18; AND WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 19; 2–4:30 PM: ACTIONPAINTINGBABYGOJS
This event appeals to the very youngest and their adult company. We’ll action-paint the floor with edible paints.
Ages 0–3 years.

THURSDAY, AUGUST 20, 2–4:30 PM: ACTIONROLLINGPATTERNPAINT
Roll out the art! We use tires, balls, wheels, and other things you can dip in paint and roll across the floor.
Ages 4–110 years.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, 2–4 PM: ACTIONPAINTINGPOLLOCKSTYLE
Here we drip paint on the floor using our own energy and our whole bodies as tools! The workshop is inspired by the legendary action painter Jackson Pollock.
Ages 3–110 years.

Important information

  • All children under the age of 15 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • To all activities you can just drop-in. Note, however, that there will be a limited number of places for every activity
  • Adults participate in the activities just like kids. You can count on all of us getting covered in paint! All our paints are non-toxic and water-based.
  • Most of the activities require work clothes and shoes that you don’t mind getting covered with paint. Bring a change of clothes with you and a towel to dry off with afterward. We’ll provide plastic bags you can take your messy clothes home in. Even though the paints we use are water-based, they may leave stains that don’t come out in the laundry, so bring only clothes you don’t care much about.
  • We at Moderna Museet Malmö will do our best to minimize the risk of slipping and falling, but we still want to warn our visitors and participants in advance that the floors may get slippery because of all the wet paint on hard floor surfaces.

Participation at your own risk. Parents are responsible for underaged children and youth. Moderna Museet Malmö cannot be held responsible for potential injuries or damaged clothes.
