On 11 April and 28 June, we will be guided in a meditation by meditation teacher and museologist Ana Maria Bermeo. On August 23, we will meet the artist Arende Krabbe in her sound-based setting, a sound bath and on 27 September, we will write together with journalist Lina Djerf.
Come as you are! No prior experience is required—this is an opportunity to experience calm, reflection, and inspiring art on a new level.
Theme 28 June: Meditation in Deborah Turbeville – Photocollage
Drawing on the photographs of Deborah Turbeville, visitors are invited to deepen their experience of a moment of stillness and presence through simple meditation exercises.
Experiencing art can be a way to slow down and connect with one’s inner world. This is an invitation to do just that, free from demands and expectations.
No prior experience of meditation is required. You are welcome just as you are.
About Ana María Bermeo
Ana María Bermeo is an artist, museologist, and certified meditation teacher. She believes in the transformative power of contemplation and in the ability of art to bring us closer to ourselves and to one another.
Theme 23 August: Listen! Sound!
Welcome to a listening situation with Arendse Krabbe, where organic materials and other found objects are used as sound sources in a subtle composition. The sounds have an earthy quality that many experience as calming and soothing, helping the nervous system relax and stimulating the body’s digestion.
You are invited to lie down and listen with your eyes closed. Afterwards, we gather in Verkstan for reflection and contemplation. Please note! The event will be held in Danish.
About Arendse Krabbe
Arendse Krabbe (b. 1979, Denmark) is an artist based in Copenhagen. Her practice revolves around critical listening, with an initial focus on the conditions underlying her own act of listening. Her work takes the form of sound, video, performance, text, installation, as well as collective sensory and listening situations. She engages with local environments in an effort to create exchanges and open spaces for difference, complexity, movement, and entanglement. Krabbe argues that attentive listening—and attention through our senses—holds the potential to create new forms of collectivity across species, systems, and boundaries.
Theme 27 September: Write!
Start your day by writing in silence at the museum together with journalist Lina Sundahl Djerf. During this writing session, you are invited to explore your creativity. We begin with a few simple shared exercises to warm up. After that, there is time for individual writing. Suggestions for additional exercises will be available for those who would like help generating ideas or simply prefer to free-write. The aim is to write without demands for performance or outcome — a moment of personal writing in concentrated silence.
About Lina Sundahl Djerf
Lina Sundahl Djerf has over 15 years of experience as a journalist and radio producer. She is currently studying screenwriting for film and television. Sundahl Djerf sees writing as both play and seriousness. The desire to write risks disappearing under pressure, but waiting for inspiration can also mean nothing happens. Just like before a physical workout, warm-up exercises can activate the creative muscles.
