Maria Prymachenko was skilled in both embroidery and pysanka, traditional folk crafts that shaped her as an artist. Her art is part of a folk art historiography. She engaged in wall painting, embroidery, sewing, and pysanka, a traditional Easter egg painting technique characteristic of her home region, Polesia.
The process is unique, and on-site, we have artist Rita Yamansari from Ukraine, who will guide us through this craft. The eggs are decorated using a special pen to cover the areas that should remain unpainted with melted beeswax. Rita will demonstrate both basic techniques and more advanced methods. No prior experience is required – just come and give it a try. Welcome!
