Talk by Babette Mangolte and Screening of The Sky on Location.
Babette Mangolte is an experimental filmmaker living in New York City and teaching at the University of California, San Diego. As cinematographer, director, essayist and photographer, she has been present in the contemporary art, film, dance, theatre and performance scene since the 1970s. Her works range from documentations of performances by artists and dancers such as Yvonne Rainer, Trisha Brown, Philip Glass and Marina Abramovíc to experimental narratives (“The Camera: Je, La Camera: I”,1977) and conceptual documentaries The Sky on Location”, 1982, 16 mm film, 78 mins
