Meet the artist Monika Sosnowska in a conversation with Stefan Ingvarsson, cultural writer and analyst at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs. Monika Sosnowska is this year’s artist at the Princess Estelle Sculpture Park and her new work “Museum” (2025) has been created especially for the site.

Monika Sosnowska is known for her large-scale installations in the borderland between sculpture and architecture. Her sculptures often refer to historical buildings and convey stories about societies in change. Sosnowska’s unique idiom has established her as one of Europe’s most prominent contemporary artists.

The new installation “Museum” (2025) is Monika Sosnowska’s first permanent work in the Nordic countries, inspired by a building that was planned on Royal Djurgården in the early 19th century, but was never built. “Museum” will be inaugurated on 3 June in the Princess Estelle Sculpture Park.

Hear Monika Sosnowska in conversation with Stefan Ingvarsson from the Swedish Institute of International Affairs, discussing her artistic practice and the new work.
