Celebrate the inauguration of Stockholm Slides, Moderna Museet’s new interactive double slide. The sculpture by Carsten Höller is not only a work of art but also a bodily experience!

Stockholm Slides (2025) was created especially for Moderna Museet by the artist Carsten Höller, known for his playful and interactive works. Carsten Höller, born in Belgium in 1961, currently lives in Stockholm, Ghana and Italy, and is represented in Moderna Museet’s collection with, among other works, the large mushroom sculptures “Giant Triple Mushroom” (2012).

Moderna Museet’s Director Gitte Ørskou and artist Carsten Höller inaugurate Stockholm Slides at 13.00 in the Foyer, floor 4. Between 13.00 and 14.00 we offer non-alcoholic drinks and canapés. First come, first served.

Everyone who wishes to, and is taller than 130 cm, can ride Stockholm Slides free of charge during the opening weekend (4–5 October).

STOCKHOLM SLIDES: HOW TO SLIDE

If you are over 19 years old, you need to buy an entrance ticket to slide. During the opening weekend, Saturday 4 October and Sunday 5 October, everyone slides for free at Stockholm Slides.

Pick up a sliding mat on the terrace on floor 4 by the staircase leading up to the slide.
A host will meet you at the top of the slide.
After sliding, step off the slide straight away and place the sliding mat in the container at the bottom.

To use the slide sculpture you need to be at least 6 years old and 1.3 metres tall.
Leave your loose items and bags before sliding. Lockers are available inside the museum on floors 1 and 4.
Do not slide under the influence of alcohol.

Stockholm Slides is closed in rainy weather.
