How about painting dots with ink or tempera? Or cutting out and gluing on dots to make your own personal pattern? Come on a guided tour of the exhibition, followed by a Workshop session on dots and patterns using different materials. We explore the meditative power of dots and spaces in the patterns we allow to grow.
“The Earth is a dot, the moon, the sun, the stars are all made up of dots. You and me, we are dots. Dots are symbols of the world, the cosmos,” says the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, and paints dots, nets and patterns in infinity.

Creative Workshop in the ArkDes Studio
During normal museum opening hours, black paper and colour pens are available for creative work. Study the dots, lights and seeds in Yayoi Kusama’s fascinating world! Is it possible to keep drawing infinitely, and are those really dots, or are you creating a pattern? Kusama is deeply inspired by nature, and that’s partly why there are so many seeds in her works. Nature’s eternal cycle is also represented in her installations, with the mirrors and lights she uses to create infinite spaces.
