Artist talk – Tilpo

The artist duo Tilpo consist of Hans Eriksson, who previously worked under the pseudonym Fruls Tilpo, and Hanna Aihonen Eriksson. The works in the exhibition are, with few exceptions, from recent years and some are completely new. During the exhibition’s first weekend, Tilpo also created a large painting on site at the museum in front of the public.

In their paintings, Tilpo invites us into imaginative, astonishing and tumultuous visual worlds where logic has been completely or partially thrown out of play. Anything can happen – er are only limited by our imaginations. In these evocative and brilliantly painted pictures there is gravity and a darkness but also glimmers of light and a humorous view of the world we human beings create and inhabit. It is up to us, the viewers, to think about what it is we are actually seeing.
