Digital Art Break – Beate Wassermann

Live stream with the museum director

23.2 2022 – 23.2 2022

Malmö

Welcome to Moderna Museet Malmö’s very first digital art break! Participate in a live stream from the museum where museum director Iris Müller Westermann presents selected works from Beate Wassermann’s colourful exhibition “Balancing Acts”.

Digital Art Break is a concept where we through live broadcasts offer our audience insights into the museum. We immerse ourselves for a while in specific works of art, artistry and exciting themes directly from our exhibitions.

The exhibition “Balancing Acts” is another of Moderna Museet Malmö’s contributions to highlighting exciting and significant female artists. Artists who have been overshadowed in an art world long dominated by male artists. Beate Wassermann is a German artist, who has never before been exhibited in Scandinavia. She studied art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin and Hamburg and was also active in Altona and periodically in Italy. Her powerful, largely abstract, paintings draws inspiration from both the mundane, the profane and the sacred – spheres that she never perceived as opposites.
