Talk and workshop for you between 14–30 years

5.5 2022 – 12.5 2022

Malmö

During two Thursday afternoons in May, we meet to look at and talk about what image and photography are, and could be. What images are we surrounded by? How and by whom are these images created? How are they spread and in what context are they displayed?

Welcome to talks, exhibition and workshop based on Annika Elisabeth von Hausswolff’s ongoing exhibition “Alternative Secrecy” at Moderna Museet Malmö. The meetings are for you between 14 and 30 years, who are curious about image, identity, media, art, politics, society and participation.

Meeting 1: 5 May at KRUT/City Library

Based on the artist Annika Elisabeth von Hausswolff’s world of images, we discuss these issues during our first meeting at KRUT/City Library(Stadsbiblioteket). In a group, we talk about how it differs and what similarities there are between acting as a journalist, artist and influencer in the production and dissemination of images. We examine how music and titles affect our perception of image. The first meeting ends with a short exercise.

Meeting 2: 12 May at Moderna Museet Malmö

The artist Annika Elisabeth von Hausswolff uses both staged photography, documentary photography, pre-existing images and she mixes up the photographic medium by introducing other materials and techniques into her artistic expression. With inspiration from her art – photography and collage – we work creatively, reflectively and critically during the second meeting at Moderna Museet Malmö. We begin our second meeting in von Hausswolff’s exhibition “Alternative Secrecy”. We talk about what we see and feel in the experience of the works – experiences that we then process in the Workshop. The second meeting ends with a joint reflection.
