Short films for children and teenagers

Film screening on the darkest day of the year

21.12 2022

Malmö

It is time to celebrate the shortest day of the year with our selection of short films. During Short Film Day 2022, Moderna Museet Malmö presents a number of short films for children and teenagers.

We start at 13.00 with films for 10-year-olds and up. The films are made by the best creators of the Swedish short film scene and address questions of friendship, loneliness, sexuality, belonging and love.

Then we take a cozy Christmas “fika” break around 14.00 and then present a number of films aimed at an audience of teenagers. The films are made of shooting stars in the Swedish short film sky and address questions of identity, belonging, friendship, family and love.

The Short Film Day concept started in France in 2011 and is currently available in more than 20 countries in the northern hemisphere. In Sweden, the Short Film Day was launched in 2014 as an initiative by the Swedish Film Institute.
