For more than 15 years, the celebrated American artist Jibz Cameron has travelled the world to present her multimedia performance work and alter ego Dynasty Handbag. Meet her in a discussion about queer fame, early influences and the struggle to survive as an artist in a global meltdown.

Jibz Cameron’s alter ego Dynasty Handbag has welcomed audiences in large art venues, dingy bars and mop closets. The New York Times pronounced her acclaimed performance work to be “the funniest and most pitch perfect performance seen in years”, and The New Yorker called it “outrageously smart, grotesque and innovative”.

On Tuesday 8 March, Jibz Cameron will visit Moderna Museet for an intimate talk about performance art, early influences and the journey towards queer celebrity. Hear her tell us about her interdisciplinary practice and how to keep up the struggle as an artist in a global meltdown.

The talk is organised in association with the Department of Dance at the Stockholm University of the Arts.
