In October 2024, an exhibition of Hilma af Klint’s works opened at the Guggenheim Bilbao. Listen to Moderna Museet’s curators Iris Müller-Westermann and Matilda Olof-Ors in conversation with José Lebrero Stals, Director of the Picasso Museum in Malaga, and Lucia Agirre, curator at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, as they discuss Hilma af Klint’s artistry and reception in Spain.

The discussion is moderated by Jessica Höglund, CEO of the Hilma af Klint Foundation.

Hilma af Klint (1862–1944) was first introduced to Spain in 2013–2014, when Moderna Museet’s major exhibition “Hilma af Klint – A Pioneer of Abstraction” was displayed at the Museo Picasso Málaga. Her works are now being shown again in Spain in the Guggenheim Bilbao exhibition “Hilma af Klint”, which runs until February 2025.

Meet Iris Müller-Westermann, Matilda Olof-Ors, José Lebrero Stals, and Lucia Agirre in a conversation about Hilma af Klint, her artistry, and the international impact her work has achieved over the past decade.
