Curator: Ann-Sofi Noring

Ann-Sofi Noring has been with Moderna Museet since 2001 as chief curator and has been responsible for exhibitions of artists including Jan Svenungsson, Andrea Zittel, Carlos Capelàn and Adrian Paci.

In 1991–2001, she was head of information at the National Public Art Council. Editor of the Council’s publications, including “Konsten i Högskolan Gävle/Sandviken” (Ulf Rollof, Mikael Lundberg, Bianca Maria Barmen), “Minnesvården över Estonia” (Miroslaw Balka), “Sila mygg och svälja kameler” (Eva Löfdahl). She organised exhibitions and seminars to spread art to the public.

In 1986-91, Ann-Sofi Noring was a curator at Riksutställningar – Swedish Travelling Exhibitions, handling projects involving artists such as Dan Wolgers, Rita Lundqvist, Cecilia Edefalk, Lars Andersson and exhibitions on various themes (Norwegian contemporary art, art owned by the City of Stockholm, “On Spirituality in Art”).

In 1980-86, she was secretary for art affairs at the Municipality of Solna. She presided over the Solna Gallery and the Olle Olsson House in Hagalund, which she helped turn into a contemporary art space. Exhibitions of Anna Sjödahl, Pug Karlsson, Nils Kölare, Olle Ängkvist and others. Public commissions to curate exhibitions include P O Ultvedt and Erik Grate. In 1976-80, she studied at Uppsala University (BA in Literature and Art History).
