Nordic Art
From Munch to Männikkö
13.6 1998 – 4.10 1998
Stockholm
This display questions whether the activity of making art in the Nordic countries, with their special light and relationship to nature and ideas of inner and outer landscape, shows any consistency between the beginning of the century and now.
Contemporary works shown are, among others, by Per Kirkeby, Olav Christopher Jenssen, Sigurdur and Kristjàn Gudmundsson, Marianna Uutinen and Esko Männikkö. The artists representing the early part of the 20th century include Edvard Munch, Helene Schjerfbeck and Jean Heiberg.
