A silent mystery and solemn serenity surround Ulf Lundkvist’s imagery. The tone is hushed even though the outlines, colours and content have a vibrant expression. Perhaps it is this very contrast that makes us receptive when we allow ourselves to step back to regard a church or a helicopter. It is here in everyday life that we exist.
Thus we encounter the great in the small, when odd becomes even.
