The Village with the Blue House

During the late 1950’s and 1960’s a prominent narrative feature appeared in Swedish photography. A number of epic collections of photographs were produced. They differed from what had earlier been done and what a few decades later younger visual artists would do. The photographs contained both technical quality and compositional construction. At the same time a lyrical and poetic feature could be observed in the photographs, which was emphasised by the technical awareness of the photographs.
