Weaving in the Workshop

Step into a weaving studio where professional weavers work! In collaboration with MalmöVÄV, the Workshop is transformed into a weaving studio this summer. During these weeks, you can take part in workshops, a lecture and try weaving!

Time: Tuesday – Sunday during opening hours

Location: The Workshop (Verkstan)

Language: Swedish

Tickets: Drop in. The activity is included in the admission fee. Free admission for those 18 and under.

Meet MalmöVÄV’s members at work. MalmöVÄV consists of professional artists who are members of KKV (Konstnärernas Kollektiv Verkstad). We have invited them to a “takeover” in the Workshop, filled with looms.

Step into a weaving studio where professional weavers work! A craft tradition that a new generation of young textile artists has taken up. Two of the looms will be try-on looms where you as a visitor can try weaving. Works in progress will also be displayed during the period.

About MalmöVÄV

KKV (Konstnärernas Kollektiv Verkstad) MalmöVÄV is an artistic production space, a collegial platform, and an exhibition space for contemporary weaving. The activities are aimed at professional artists, craftspeople, designers, and others with weaving as a common denominator.

The purpose of MalmöVÄV is to provide professional weavers with the conditions to carry out their own projects as well as collective commissions and public installations by providing relevant weaving equipment and related practices. In addition to its core activities, MalmöVÄV has a public program consisting of exhibitions, workshops, and lectures related to weaving.
