The jury’s motivation
“Valeria Montti Colque’s artistry pushes the boundaries of space, body, and material. In her world, we encounter sculpture as a state of being – a state where mythology, migration, and magic are interwoven into explosive formations that challenge both hierarchies and traditions. Her works are often lavish, tactile, and associative, yet always grounded in a serious search for belonging and healing. With a distinctive ability to create spaces of intensity, where color, form, and symbols interact, Montti Colque opens portals to other dimensions. She uses sculpture as ritual, as scenography, as resistance – and as invitation. Montti Colque’s art embodies the transgressive – between art forms, between people, between worlds.”
