Biographies

Ann-Christin Bertrand is curator for C/O Berlin. She heads the C/O Berlin Talents program, an annual internationally advertised competition for young contemporary photography and art criticism, and has organized collective and individual shows including BlowUp – Antonionis Film Classic and Photography, Niina Vatanen. Beyond the Visible Surface, Christer Strömholm. Post Scriptum“, Larry Clark as well as Rafal Milach 7 Rooms amongst others. In addition, she developed the series of public programs In Transition and is curating a new exhibition format at C/O Berlin, called Thinking about photography, highlighting new tendencies in photography since its digitalization. Since 2007, she has been living and working in Berlin, where she founded the studio “art & context”, providing text and communication work for the cultural field. Since 2010 she is part of the C/O Berlin team.

Marcel Feil is deputy director, artistic affairs at Foam in Amsterdam. After studying History of Art at the University of Amsterdam he worked for the Dutch Foundation for Visual Arts, Design and Architecture for four years. The next four years he was a staff member of the Amsterdam Centre for Photography curating small exhibitions with work of young emerging photographers, organizing lectures and the educational program. Since 2002 he has worked as curator at Foam and organized a wide range of historical and contemporary photography exhibitions, varying from solo exhibitions, group shows and theme exhibitions. He is also one of the editors of Foam Magazine, the international photography magazine published by Foam. Since the beginning of 2010 he has been Foam’s deputy director, responsible for artistic affairs. Recently he curated the William Klein retrospective shown in Foam in 2014.

Duncan Forbes is Director of the Fotomuseum Winterthur where he has worked since 2013. Previously he was Senior Curator of Photography at the National Galleries of Scotland, Edinburgh. Recent book and exhibition projects include Edith Tudor-Hart: In the Shadow of Tyranny (Hatje Cantz, 2013) and (curated with Florian Ebner) Manifeste! Eine andere Geschichte der Fotografie (Steidl, 2014). He is currently working on an exhibition titled Beastly/Tierisch which explores animalities in contemporary photography and video.

Rima Mokaiesh is the newly appointed director of the Arab Image Foundation, a non-profit, artist-led organization established in Beirut and dedicated to the collection, preservation and study of photography and other visual materials. Prior to becoming director, she led a number of programs at the AIF, including workshops, residencies, symposiums, and preservation programs such as the Middle East Photograph Preservation Initiative (MEPPI).
