Welcome to participate in the festive opening of the exhibitions “Lars Englund – Under Construction” and “Adéle Essle Zeiss – Statolit”! Listen to museum director Elisabeth Millqvist’s welcome speech and  introduction to the exhibitions.

Lars Englund’s work spans from the 1950s to the present. He investigates materials and forms and tackles endless variations, testing and challenging them. The exhibition is situated on the second floor and seeps into other areas of the museum. We encounter early paintings and a rich selection of sculpture.

Parallel to Lars Englund, Adèle Essle Zeiss’ “Statolit”, an installation and performance work for three dancers, is presented on the Loading dock. “Statolit” will be performed every month during the exhibition period. The dancers balance on planks and concentrate on the task to sit still, but the focus of the work is on movement. In Essle Zeiss interest in the boundary between movement and stillness, there is a connection to Lars Englund’s art. In the museum a dialogue commences, both between artworks and over generations.
