The Workshop turns into weaving studio

How can a thread become fabric? Join our summer break workshop and try weaving. We work in the Workshop and if nice weather, also outdoors in front of the museum.

Date: 25 – 28 June
Time: Between 11.00 – 15.00
Location: The Workshop and outside the museum at Ola Billgrens plats
Language: Swedish
Tickets: Drop in. Free admission outdoors. Adults pay admission fee if you want to work in the Workshop. Free admission for those 18 and under.

MalmöVÄV has taken over the museum’s workshop and turned it into a weaving studio. Here you can try weaving at a loom or on a smaller scale in a frame, or perhaps with paper?

There will be the opportunity to weave at a loom and to create smaller weaves with various exciting materials such as paper, hemp, reeds, rags, plastic bands, etc. Regardless of the level of knowledge, you can test the principles of weaving.
There are many different ways to try this craft tradition. We have material suitable for all ages and skill levels. On site are artists who are members of MalmöVÄV and who help us get started.
Weather permitting, the workshop takes place both indoors in the Workshop and outdoors in front of the museum.
