A Choreographic Conversation

Dance performance with Lydia Östberg Diakité and BamBam Frost

18.9 2021 – 19.9 2021

Stockholm

See choreographers Lydia Östberg Diakté and BamBam Frost explore the meeting between provocation and play, tenderness and violence, greatness and madness in ”A Choreographic Conversation”. The dance performance takes place in the exhibition “Lynette Yiadom-Boakye: Fly In League WithThe Night” across the last weekend of the exhibition.

Inspired by pop cultural and sport phenomenons, Lydia Östberg Diakté and BamBam Frost build scenarios that are pushed to their limit, to see what happens when they tip over. Moving through various extremes, they pull, twist and turn to propose alternative ways of being together.

The dancers and choreographers Lydia Östberg Diakité and BamBam Frost invite you to follow them as they move through the exhibition. ”A Choreographic Conversation” takes place in ”Lynette Yiadom-Boakye: Fly In League WithThe Night” across the last weekend of the exhibition.

BamBam Frost

BamBam Frost is a dancer and choreographer based in Stockholm. Frost works from an intersectional feminist perspective and her work is in constant transformation and dialog with the current times. She has a strong interest in social dances and pop cultural phenomena in relation to the times and contexts they arose from. Her latest works ”SORRY” (2018), ”SO SORRY” (2019), and ”YES” (2020) all take off from popular culture and critical science fiction. In her work she insists on pleasure and fiction as a compass to imagine and shape choreographic proposals for change.
