Rights and Reproductions

Images of works of art are protected by the Swedish copyright law (SFS 1960:729) and may only be used in connection with news reporting or art criticism.

Images may not be cropped or altered in any other way, in print or on the internet. Captions and copyright information must always be included. More about copyright: Bildupphovsrätt i Sverige.

Order well in advance

Please make sure to plan ahead when ordering image files from Moderna Museet’s Rights and Reproduction Service (Bildbyrån). Moderna Museet aims to process incoming requests within 2–4 weeks. Briefly describe your research or book project, if applicable, and how the image will be used. If you are requesting an image of a work in Moderna Museet’s collection, please include the inventory number.
