This display places some of the most well-known works from the collection into a dialogue with other, perhaps less well-known, works which stretches across time, space, nationality and style.
Different themes have been established in each of the exhibition rooms. Many of the juxtapositions are unusual or unexpected, surprising connections are discovered. New contexts and perceptions are established which enable the works to be seen in a different light. The themes include the idea of beginnings and the cyclical movements of nature; movement, mechanical or human; the relationship between outside and inside; the portrait and figure and the infinite limitlessness of colour and space.
