Who wants a ceramic mug in blue and gold, imprinted with the slogan, ‘Go, Leffe, Go!’? What purpose does a chipped sugar bowl serve in a society where everyone already has a sugar bowl and no one takes sugar in their coffee anyway? How many glasses do we have to break before we need to replace them with chipped, mass-produced, second-hand ones? Elisabeth Westerlund has drawn a razor-sharp line high up in the room, blocking our field of vision with a crossbar on which she has placed objects – rejected cups, discarded glasses, quietly pondering their new situation – they are in a museum.
