On Saturday, 27 March, a new exhibition opens at Moderna Museet Malmö – a unique retrospective that demonstrates a relatively unknown part of Diane Arbus artistry; her large body of work produced for the Anglo-American press in the 1960s.

French artist Pierre Leguillon invites us to Diane Arbus rich production for magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Nova and The Sunday Times Magazine. The exhibition demonstrates the New York photographer’s wide range of subjects and genres: photo essays to kids’ fashion and celebrity photos – Marcello Mastroianni, Norman Mailer, Jorge Luis Borges and other stars from the 60s are interspersed on some hundred photos presented in their original context – on the pages of magazines. This part of Diane Arbus work has never before been presented the way Pierre Leguillon does: a printed retrospective.

On the inauguration day, 27 March, curator Joa Ljungberg will hold an Artist Talk with Pierre Leguillon between 2-3 pm at Moderna Museet Malmö.
