In all her work Monica Sjöö (1938-2005) waged an uncompromising battle for freedom from all forms of oppression. The retrospective “The Great Cosmic Mother” brings together for the first time Sjöö’s extensive body of work where art, politics and spirituality have become inseparable.
The exhibition departs from Sjöö’s entire practice and contains around fifty works – from large-scale paintings to political posters, banners, drawings and material from the artist’s extensive archive.
