The creative practices of a world shaped by the globalising power of the internet is the focus of the Swedish edition of ”Poetry Will be Made by All!”.
It is an opportunity for 89plus to elaborate on the explorations that began in Zurich in 2014 as part of their exhibition of the same name, which was itself inspired by the seminal 1969 exhibition at Moderna Museet, ”Poetry Must be Made by All! Transform the World!” It is also another milestone in 89plus’s publishing project “1000 Books by 1000 Poets”, which will publish 1000 new books of expanded writing and poetry by authors from all over the world.
89plus has invited poets, visual artists, authors, architects, filmmakers, musicians, designers, koreografer, reserachers och technologists born in 1989 or later to participate in Poetry Will be Made by All! Which is a part of After Babel.
In the exhibition After Babel you can see artworks on screen by: Sarah Abu Abdallah, Abdullah Al-Mutairi, Yollotl Alvarado, Darja Bajagić, Josh Bitelli, Domingo Castillo, Nina Djekić, Valia Fetisov, Emmanuel Iduma, Yuan Keru, Nicholas Korody, Nicholas Maurer, Felix Melia, Llewellyn Millhouse, Khun Minn Ohn, Adriana Ramić, Bunny Rogers, Muhammad Umar Saeed, Hugo Scibetta, Bogosi Sekhukhuni, Jasper Spicero, Laís Tavares, Philipp Timischl, Alexander Jackson Wyatt, Yu Youyou, Bruno Zhu.

My work for this screening is both the beginning of a new series but also a continuation of a painting study that I developed thanks to the 89plus Residency at Google Cultural Institute. In an attempt at going back to the gesture and the contemplative picture, I decided to continue my Google scanners archive study, to make it more complete. For that purpose I started a new series of video and canvas. One is the process and the other the result (in some ways). The video (process) is a component of slowness, and a test (thus it can fail) to find the pleasure of the gesture. Vacillating between accuracy and loosening, I used the maximum 5 minutes as a constraint.”
