Ian Chengs “BOB (Bag of Beliefs)” in the foyer

The work’s protagonist, BOB, is programmed by Ian Cheng based on a gaming platform. This creature moves around its digital home, interacting with objects and trying to understand its own needs and how to fulfil them.

BOB comes close to what is called “autopoietic” in cybernetics, that is to say, self-producing. With a serpent-like body that constantly changes and branches out, BOB navigates in the stream of impulses and surprises that life offers, and tries to adapt.

Via the QR code in the museum, you can download an app where you can interact with BOB. In this way, everyone can participate and influence BOB’s development.
